I used to take pilates group classes at a studio.  We would use these Pilates rings in a lot of our exercises.  I have a real love/hate relationship with this piece of equipment.  I now do workouts at home online.  I love how this ring can get muscle groups really focused and a great workout.You can really add to a Pilates floor routine with this ring.

I am here again with another exercise product to review.  This is more for during and After a workout.  This is the Muscle Mauler Max Foam roller. Foam rollers are a great tool to help roll out your stiff muscles during and after a workout.  They can be of varying densities from soft thick pool noodles to hard huge PVC tubes.  I tend to use a medium density solid EVA roller and was wondering how this EVA foam covered tube would compare.



The name foam roller is a bit of a misnomer as it is a textured foam over a solid tube.  This still functions the same way as a traditional foam roller though.  I do like that this roller is two feet long so you can roll out your back or bottom and get support the whole time.  This size is great for transportation as it is lightweight.  I also am happy how well constructed it is.  I am able to toss it in the car and drag it around and the seam of the foam to plastic tube is still well sealed.  I was worried that the foam would be squished and I would only feel the hard tube after several used.  I was pleasantly surprised that there is significant support when putting my full weight on the tube but it still has softness.

I like to use this after working out because my legs get very tight.  I have found some good videos on YouTube that I like and can hit small areas of my hips and legs with the roller to break up any adhesions(tight areas).  You get a sheet of exercises that comes with the roller and also an ebook that is a bit more in depth.  If you have not used one I would recommend watching a few videos or ask a trainer at the gym.  I recommend this roller and hope you can get benefits from it as well.

I am always on the lookout for a great yoga and workout towel.  I am proudly of central European descent, but unfortunately I do not 'glisten' when exercising.  I need something to help keep me from slipping with my sweating hands and feet.  Not just in yoga and pilates but also for pushups in sculpting.  I also like to just use the gym yoga mats instead of dragging my own from home.  Using this Joyful Zen Yoga Towel lets me bring a multi use item that is lighter and easier to transport than my yoga or pilates mats.

I took this mat to Barre class.  Love the classes/hate the lack of clean mats.  I love that this towel is oversized and soft to the touch.  The color is a soft dusty blue with a bright green hem.  I did notice that there is not a hanging loop for this towel.  I will be using this towel promamry as a yoga workout towel and not a travel towel so I have no problem with this.  I have been using this towel for almost a month which it has gotten many washes.  I have not had any threads unraveling.  I like that this Joyful Zen sports towel is able to stand up to my workouts and does a great job of keeping my hands and feet from slipping.  I do find that for yoga I wet my hands and feet lightly before doing my poses.

Running Armband for Samsung Galaxy S5 S4 S3 Review

I have been looking for a case for my smartphone.  I was happy to be able to try out this i2 Gear sports armband.  The armband arrived quickly and well packaged.  There is a reflective band to help people see you at night.  I really like the bright pink color.  Great so you can keep track of it in your workout bag or noticeable at home so you don't forget to workout.  It's like a little pink beacon tat reminds me that I need to get out of the house even on cold mornings and get some needed exercise.  Winter has not been kind to my diet.  

My Galaxy 5 slides easily into the back of the case.  The stitching is really solid and even.  I like that there are solid plastic pieces where the velcro strap folds over on itself.  This keeps the whole armband laying flat and gives it a longer life.  The velcro itself is solid and has the whole arm band in velcro for ultimate adjustability.  The other great part about the adjustment is that there are two threading holes to get great stability along with adjustability. Also on the back side where the phone is inserted there is a bit of rubberized paint to keep the slit for the phone fused together so the material does not pill up or unfurl.  There is also a slot to store your house key or a small car key.  They really did think of everything for the comfort of long term use.

Well I have been happy from day one with this armband.  Wearing the i2 Gear armband is so comfortable when out and exercising.  The neoprene sleeve that is the side facing your skin is smooth and there are no burs or sharp edges that can become very irritating to skin.  The clear plastic sleeve is large so you can use your full touchscreen and I have not had any glitches when using the phone while in the sleeve.  

At $7.99 for this armband I did not have really high expectations but I am super happy with this and recommend it to everyone.

I really like these wrist weights!  They are the right size for adding a little boost to your workouts.   The weights are soft and flexible with little beady things as the filler weight and soft material on the outside.   They have a long strip of velcro so they can be adjusted for any size wrist.   I have a normal sized wrist so I had plenty of extra velcro for adjustment.  Mr Man tried them on and he had more than enough room to put these on comfortably.

I received this hot yoga towel quickly in the mail and I am happy I did!  I have been taking Bikram or hot yoga off(mostly off) and on for about 4 years.  I recently got back into group practice and I have used this towel every other day for the past 3 weeks.  I normally bring a big beach towel or rent a yoga towel from the studio.  Not having a towel is not an option for me!  I am one of those people that look like a drowned rat after 90 minutes of Bikram torture practice.

When I got the towel in the mail I really liked the soft pink color and liked that it was a match for the picture shown on Amazon.com.  But what I really liked was the size!  This Hot Yoga Towel is really big at 24"x72".  It stretches about an inch over each end of my yoga mat and about a half inch on either side.  Which is great if you are like me and want to try to contain your body and sweat in your personal space.  I feel like my yoga mat and towel are my safe zones when there are dozens of people all around you panting and dripping with sweat themselves.
I found this towel to be better than my beach towel in keeping me from slipping in my poses.  I do find I need to lightly dampen the ends where my feet will be when doing standing poses.  This helps suction my feet to the ground to keep from slipping.  I have to dampen all my towels for Bikram or Vinyasa yoga so I was not surprised that I did the same with this towel. I was able to focus on my pose instead of how to keep my feet from slipping and found that this has allowed for deeper stretches into my poses.  I liked that this towel kept soaking up my sweat and by the end of standing poses was still able to keep my grip.  This does not happen with regular towels for me.

I have washed this towel after every practice(I would think everyone does this) and the color has stayed.  Because I have been using this towel so frequently I have been tossing it in with every load and no matter the wash temp or setting the towel has not bled or faded.  The stitching on the edges has not snagged or frayed at all.  Another plus is that this towel has remained nice and soft  I also like the round Shandali design in the corner.  Finally, because it does not have the grips on the bottom of the towel it can also be used as a bathsheet, blanket, cover, or towel!  So many uses and at a great price of $24.99 you don't have to break the bank to buy one.  Very zen indeed!
