Ava Shower Filter Review

I am excited about this shower filter.  I have been dealing with hard water and dry skin since I moved back home from Korea recently.  This water also gives me itchy skin later in the day.  I have been trying different body creams to help, but when I saw this water filter I was hoping this could be the answer to my issues.

This filter is pretty big and a bit bulky when I got it out of the package.  The filter comes with a roll of plumbers tape so I did not have to worry about locating my roll at home.  I swear I saw some a couple years ago in the junk drawer... The most difficult part of putting this filter on was getting my own shower head off of the pipe on my shower.  After a bit of elbow grease I was able to easily add the filter using a bit of plumbers tape for the pipe threads.  The filter did lower my pressure a little bit.  I was actually happy because my showerhead is a bit older and has a lot of pressure and heavy water flow.  I was going to replace the showerhead but now don't have to.

After my first shower I have been converted to this shower filter!  After a week of using this filter I no longer have to deal with itchy skin.  I also do not have to race to moisturize everything as soon as I towel off.  This filter is supposed to be effective for 9-12 months then you just toss it and replace it with a new filter.  I am assuming my skin will tell me when it is time to change.  The filter is a bit pricy but oh the change has been worth it.
